1st day of 2nd grade. bus stop.

ah, the first day of school. annie is starting 2nd grade which totally blows my mind. where did my little baby go?!! there are some adorable little girls at the bus stop this year and i couldn't resist a snap or two. annie came home loving her new teacher and excited about the school year ahead. i wasn't surprised, my gal adores school and is eager to learn  - she read a ton of books over the summer as well as working in her math books- she still wants to be a dancer/doctor/teacher/singer - i say go for it!! xoxoxo

Annie's Classroom Rules - good reminders for us all
* Be Respectful + Positive
* Help Others
*Take chances. It is okay to be wrong
*Be safe + happy

I think I'm going to like 2nd grade.

reflected in her soul.

the beauty of a woman is not in the clothes she wears, the figure that she carries, or the way she combs her hair. the beauty of a woman is seen in her eyes, because that is the doorway to her heart, the place where love resides. true beauty in a woman is reflected in her soul. it's the caring that she lovingly gives, the passion that she shows & the beauty of a woman only grows with passing years.”

sweet + a lullaby.

there's not a rose where'er I seek
as comely as my baby's cheek.
there's not a comb of honey-bee,
so full of sweets as babe to me.

and it's so sweet,
sweet and a lullaby.

there's not a star that shines on high,
is brighter than my baby's eye.
there's not a boat upon the sea,
can dance as baby does for me.

and it's so sweet,
sweet and a lullaby.

no silk was ever spun so fine
as is the hair of baby mine.
my baby smells more sweet to me
than smells in spring the elder tree.

and it's so sweet,
sweet and a lullaby.

the sea.

the sea, once it casts its spell,
holds one in its net of wonder forever.
